Group: Puppet - Level: Ultimate - Type: Virus - Attack Techniques: Heat Break Attack, Bear Claw The first WaruMonzaemon the kids encountered was a servant of Machinedramon, the Dark Master of the digital city. He ran the underground slave camp of Numemon, where he mistreated the Digimon, as they were forced to run treadmills that powered the city above. When Sora, T.K. and Kari of the DigiDestined came across the camp, Sora, T.K. and their Digimon lured him away, while Kari freed the Numemon. WaruMonzaemon returned to the camp, and was attacked by the Numemon, but defeated them easily. However, Birdramon, Angemon and Angewomon sent him fleeing. When he reported back to Machinedramon, the villain destroyed him for his incompetence. Note that in the US version, an extra line - "He shot my paw!" - is dubbed in to make it appear that WaruMonzaemon is not destroyed, when, in fact, he is. Four years later, when wild Digimon were appearing all over Earth, another WaruMonzaemon was seen in Japan, and was quickly sent back to the DigiWorld by Imperialdramon. A WaruMonzaemon first appears in "The Crest of Light." His voice is supplied by Dan Lorge. Name: From the Japanese word, "Waru," meaning "evil," and from the 17th Century Japanese playwrite, Chikamatsu Monzaemon, who wrote plays for puppet theatre ("Puppet" being WaruMonzaemon's Digimon Group).
